Basic Badminton Skills You Can Learn Without Coach

    in General Discussions

    Badminton Techniques

Badminton is played on a court with restricted space, and athletes must be aware of this while competing. Footwork is critical to a player's ability to move effectively and efficiently on the court. Some coaches place a greater emphasis on footwork than on other talents.

Tips on how to walk properly

    • Always keep the foundation in mind (starting point).

    • Only take a couple of steps backward.

    • Only shuffle one step to the side.

    • Only take a few steps forward.

    Serve

In badminton, one of the most fundamental skills to master is service. You should also make sure to do a legal service, as failing to do so could result in penalty points. Here are the regulations and dimensions for badminton.

In badminton, based on the shuttle's landing aim, there are two types of service.

    High-End Service

The back-end corner of the opponent's court is the target of a high serve. A robust high serve should result in the shuttle sliding steeply downwards at the court's back end. In reality, opponents who are capable of performing a hard smash are served a high serve. A perfectly executed high serve will always be met by a lob or a drop from your opponent.

    Best Sports list:

Figure Skating | Flag Football | Footvolley | Formula One | Formula Three | Free Diving | Freestyle Football | Freestyle Skiing | Futsal | Gaelic Football | Gatka | Gliding | Go | Goalball | Golf | Grey Hound Racing | Gymnastics | Hammer Throw | Heptathlon | High Diving

Serving the shuttle to the opponent's backhand area is often advised. This is to take advantage of the majority of players' weaker backhands.

    Low-Serving

The low serve, unlike the high service, is aimed at the front of the court. The goal is to allow the shuttle to soar slightly above the net and land in the court's front corner. If your opponent's execution is terrible, he or she will be able to run forward and smash the shuttle into you.

    Smash

Smash is the most powerful stroke in badminton. Therefore it's no surprise that it's the most well-known term. The goal of the stroke is to hit the shuttle hard against the opponent's body or downward on the court. There is no defense against a well-executed smash. This is the most aggressive and technical badminton skill. Smashes can be divided into three categories:

    Smash your forehand

The forehand is a type of overhead smash that is similar to throwing a ball. If you can throw a ball well, you should have no trouble playing this stroke. For beginners in badminton, this technique is a game-changer.

    Smash your backhand

This is one of the most challenging strokes in badminton, and even experts have trouble performing it. However, to improve one's skill level, it is necessary to practice and master the method. Getting the backhand grip is crucial for this stroke to be successful. It's also critical to revert to your original stance. In badminton, mastering the backhand smash takes years of work and consistency.

    Smashing a jump

A forehand smash that includes a timed jump counts as a jumping smash. The most glamorous badminton skill is this one.

    Shot with a Drop

The drop shot is the most technical of all the basic badminton skills. Badminton Drop Shots are delicate badminton shots that can earn you points by deceiving your opponent. These are used to move the opponent to the frontcourt and are played with both the backhand and forehand. This allows you to take advantage of space in the midcourt and backcourt. Drop shots can be slow or fast, depending on the situation. If correctly developed, this essential badminton talent can transform an intermediate player into an expert.
